I started on my "Midsummer Night's Dream" portrait today and experimented with a new set of pastels. I wanted to practice with soft pastels without using up all my good stuff (AKA my Rembrandts). So I bought a
Artist's Loft Soft Pastels for $3 (after coupon ^_^).

There was minimal binding agent for the pastels and it's very powdery. I sorta liked it cause it made blending a LOT easier. Downside? The colors aren't as rich and dark and buttery looking as the Rembrandts. Oh well, I did say I am just using the cheap ones to practice on, right?
